BKO Engineering team develops and maintains automation software which manages database backups across cloud-scale storage orchestration servers. Regular duties include patch development, release management, software troubleshooting and refactoring to support new environments.
Requirements
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Strong proficiency in Python for system-level development and automation.
- Experience with Orchestrating automation of Linux server environments
- Linux command line experience
- Experience with developing automation to orchestrate changes to large scale environments
- Experience with Ansible or other infrastructure as code solutions
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Responsibilities
- Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
- Design software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite
- Help design new orchestrations for managing the customer environments
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for secure and distributed environments.
- Develop automation scripts and workflows using Python and Ansible to streamline deployments and configuration management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate, monitor, and optimize storage technologies (e.g., NAS, object and blob storage).

- Writing and maintaining comprehensible documentation is the responsibility of all team members and strong coding documentation skills are a must.
- Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality products to our users.
