MongoDB is looking to build a world-class distributed open-source database by enhancing user-facing features and integrating query with other products in the MongoDB ecosystem.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data management systems
- Experience with building production-level code with a large user base, robust design structure and rigorous code quality
- Experience with large code bases written in C++ or another systems programming language
- Passion for the theory and practice of database query engines, as well as hands-on or academic experience in the database domain
- Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture
- Knowledge of Python and Javascript
- Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases
Responsibilities
- Write well tested, production-ready code in C++
- Research state-of-the art query systems to inform design
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams across the company to jointly work on large initiatives
- Contribute to the development of a project slated for the next major version
- Fix bugs in a minor version of our latest stable release series
- Take on code review responsibilities and draft and review the design for new features
- Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap of the MongoDB Query team
Other
- Degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to work in-office or remotely in the United States
- Ability to travel to MongoDB headquarters or office hub locations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to mentor and coach team members
- Ability to work on large initiatives and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap
