PayPal is looking to solve the problem of improving existing structures and processes, and achieving customer, operational, program or service objectives by hiring a project leader to coordinate the activities of other engineers.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in back-end languages (Java is a MUST) and experience with database technologies (relational databases like MySQL, NoSQL databases like MongoDB, and big data tools like Hadoop/Spark)
- Expertise in HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, and deep experience with at least one modern framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
- Demonstrated ability to design and architect AI-driven applications and cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), enabling scalable and robust full-stack systems
Responsibilities
- Acts as a project or system leader, coordinating the activities of other engineers on the project or within the system
- Determines the technical tasks that other engineers will follow
- Actions result in the achievement of customer, operational, program or service objectives
- Proactively improves existing structures & processes
- Exercises judgement in reconciling diverse and competing priorities (time, quality, complexity risk) to identify optimal solutions to problems
- Notices patterns and condenses repetition into densely meaningful generalized solutions
- Collaborates with management to set/improve standards for engineering rigor

- Must be able to work in a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home
- Must be able to represent PayPal, Inc to the outside world via interactions with partners, customers, or industry organizations
- Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills
