Waymo is looking to scale its mapping capabilities to enable the next phase of rapid expansion for its autonomous driving technology. This involves building and leading a new team focused on Field Response infrastructure to manage mapping changes and ensure safe autonomous driving.
Requirements
- Backend engineer with experience building server-side infrastructure and data processing
- Solid coding skills (C++ preferred)
- Experience in Mapping and Localization
- Experience in the AV industry
Responsibilities
- Lead a new team focused on Field Response infrastructure to help enable the next phase of Waymo’s rapid expansion
- Own the strategy and roadmap for Mapping change detection as a key component to scaling our mapping capabilities
- Hire and lead a team of engineers to solve open-ended business problems and deep technical challenges
- Design and build business-critical systems for taking low latency action in response to signals from Waymo’s fleet
- Build robust backend infrastructure and data processing that will scale with Waymo’s growth
