NBCUniversal is spinning off a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of its cable television networks and complementary digital assets. The company needs a Staff Engineer to help modernize legacy platforms, accelerate delivery, and build scalable solutions for this new entity.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), serverless, and event-driven design.
- Familiarity with SaaS platforms, low-code/no-code tools, and Gen AI technologies.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems or integrating with modern platforms.
- Experience with full-stack (backend, frontend, Cloud, Infrastructure) development.
- Familiarity with distributed messaging (Kafka, Kinesis) and caching (example - Redis, ElastiCache).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of scalable, secure, and performant systems that modernize legacy platforms.
- Implement and extend SaaS and low-code/no-code platforms to accelerate delivery and reduce custom development.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver business-aligned solutions.
- Apply rapid prototyping, iterative development, and pragmatic decision-making to drive outcomes.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, especially in Gen AI, cloud-native development, and platform engineering.
- Mentor the software engineering team to adopt best practices and agile/iterative ways to deliver solutions
