Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. The Web Build-Serve team aims to make building and serving Google-class web development fast and easy for developers across Gmail, Search, and Cloud, by exploring how Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic workflows are transforming web application development and improving the experience for over ten thousand Google engineers.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, and/or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript and/or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • Experience in machine learning techniques, including large language models and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and improve web development tooling to better support LLM-generated code workflows.
  • Lead efforts to accelerate rapid prototyping and rapid productionization for our largest product areas including Search, YouTube, Cloud, DevAI, and DeepMind.
  • Advocate for opportunities to improve developer tooling and workflows by leveraging third-party techniques and tooling.
  • Support all Google web developers.
  • Develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.
  • Work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.
  • Build the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products.
