Woodward is looking to solve the problem of designing and delivering energy control solutions for a clean future by hiring a Staff Test Engineer (Software) to perform design and support of high complexity test systems and equipment, mentor other engineers, and drive process improvements.
Requirements
- Greater than 8 years professional engineering experience or a combination of experience and advanced degree
- Expert in software, modeling, and design tools, as well as ERP/MRP and document management systems.
- Demonstrates expertise in physical systems, testing requirements, instrumentation calibration, and manufacturing processes.
- Develops, validates, and documents software for test systems including backend programming and automation
Responsibilities
- Designs, supports, and tests high-complexity systems, ensuring manufacturability, testability, and reliability criteria are met.
- Conducts complex research, developing innovative techniques and procedures for improved processes.
- Provides expert guidance in electronics, software, and mechanical engineering, offering knowledge in design, manufacturing processes, and vendor selection.
- Develops detailed documentation, user manuals, and training materials while mentoring engineers and technicians.
- Troubleshoots complex system problems and provides technical solutions using advanced engineering knowledge.
- Expert in software, modeling, and design tools, as well as ERP/MRP and document management systems.
- Develops, validates, and documents software for test systems including backend programming and automation
Other
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phases of major projects, guiding technical direction for Engineers (levels 1-3) and leading small teams.
- Works with cross-functional teams, engages with customers, and participates in international/multi-site projects.
- US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) - required
- US – Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) - preferred
- Six Sigma Greenbelt training
