Live content through sports and other events are rapidly shifting to OTT delivery and is an essential part of WBD’s digital offerings. WBD strives to build a best-in-class live streaming and near live platform to support this key aspect of our products.

Requirements

  • Expertise in video technologies including UHD, HDR video, immersive audio, and video streaming.
  • Proven expertise in developing hybrid cloud-based/on-prem live video workflows.
  • Deep understanding of video networking technologies including fiber networks, SMPTE 2110 networks, MPEG-TS, RTP Multicast, Zixi, SRT, and RTMP.
  • Understanding of MPEG, JPEG compression theory.
  • Proven track record of success in video and live streaming.
  • Good and varied knowledge of digital media and postproduction workflows.
  • Hands on experience with leading encoding and packaging vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, operate, maintain, and enhance networking and video infrastructure supporting ingestion of video content into WBD’s Direct-to-Consumer platform.
  • Collaborate across teams, organizations, and companies to define and deliver next-gen live experiences across our digital products.
  • Initiate and oversee the execution of research and innovation efforts focused on improving live experiences.
  • Document workflows and present to executive and operation teams as needed.
  • Train operations teams in the workflow pipeline as needed.
  • Provide on-call coverage as needed.
  • Support and maintain an active on-air environment. This includes IP switches, A/V routers, RF/fiber transmission facilities.

Other

  • 10+ years of experience in live production workflows (specifically sports) from truck to consumer.
  • A willingness to work off hours to support critical global events and deployments.
  • Hands on experience with typical devices and software used in common broadcast environments.
  • Go on-site to studios, event sites, offices, and datacenters to install, maintain, current and future systems required for streaming / broadcast delivery.
  • Be a partner to our Brands and production teams, build trusting relationships with other engineers, operations, and product teams.
