QinetiQ US seeks a skilled Mid-Level Statistician to support a federal law enforcement agency client operations, analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, providing statistical insights, and driving data-informed decision-making processes that support the Law Enforcement Lifecycle.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis techniques, statistical modeling, and hypothesis testing
- Proficiency in statistical programming languages including R, Python, and SQL
- Experience with statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, Stata, or similar applications
- Familiarity with data visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Understanding of database management principles and data quality assurance methods
- Experience with statistical validation and quality control processes
- Experience with advanced statistical techniques such as machine learning, Bayesian analysis, or spatial statistics
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large and complex agency data sets from various law enforcement systems and sources
- Apply statistical techniques, data mining, and predictive modeling to extract meaningful insights from law enforcement data
- Identify patterns, correlations, and relationships within agency data to inform strategic decisions and policy formulation
- Support development and validation of Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models for Law Enforcement operations
- Conduct statistical validation of agency decision support tools and forecasting methodologies
- Develop and generate statistical reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights to agency leadership and federal stakeholders
- Utilize statistical programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL for complex data analysis
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Biostatistics, or related quantitative field
- 3+ years of experience in statistical analysis, preferably in federal or law enforcement environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate federal security clearance
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting statistical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
