Leidos is seeking to hire a STEM software engineering intern to work on teams responsible for developing and maintaining FAA air traffic control software.
Requirements
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, Java, Python, and multi-threaded programming or equivalent development and debugging environment beneficial.
- Familiarity with the following: Java, Python, Web Development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS), scripting languages (Perl, bash, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems.
- Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the software development life cycle.
- Developing and maintaining FAA air traffic control / flight services software (primarily using Java and Python) on a UNIX/Linux platform.
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Experience using version control tools such as Git, Subversion or CVS
- Experience in the use of UNIX and Linux operating systems

- 2026 High School Graduate
- Plans to pursue a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Acceptance letter from college for fall 2026
- Candidates must be accepted into a degree program at an accredited college or university
- US Citizenship Required
- Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
