The business problem is to provide support to Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) DCFS youth, ages 12-17, with mental health challenges, who are impacted by the foster care system in a 24/7 highly structured setting at Bourne Inc.
Requirements
- Ability to pass and utilize the Pro Act physical restraint system.
- Must have a valid California Driver License, proof of automobile insurance, and meet the Agency’s safe driver guidelines.
- Ability to maintain First Aid/CPR Certification
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans for residents, focusing on therapeutic interaction and activities.
- Provide supervision, counseling, and direct care, teaching values and life skills.
- Ensure residents' health, safety, and welfare while maintaining a therapeutic environment.
- Plan and oversee recreational activities tailored to individual needs.
- Transport residents to appointments and community outings.
- Maintain a clean-living environment through housekeeping and minor repairs.
- Assist with medical needs and dispense prescribed medications.
Other
- A high school diploma or AA degree with one (1) year as a full-time staff member or served as a volunteer at a group home, short-term residential therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency standards while fostering a professional relationship with residents.
- Pre-employment background check and health screen.
- Must have physical presence in the facility.
