AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join their Edison, New Jersey office to support infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services.
Requirements
- 0-2 Years experience in a related technical field.
- Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil, structural or architectural engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship
- Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
- Experience with Revit (preferred)
- Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.
Responsibilities
- Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the review of a more experienced professional.
- Collect and analysis of data using established procedures and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
- Assist Senior Engineers in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
- Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assist in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observe construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
- Develop engineering calculations under the supervision of senior structural engineers.
- Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
- Travel to client sites for investigations up to 50%
