Nucor Building Systems South Carolina is looking for a Structural Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team, ensuring projects are completed on time with high quality, while also focusing on team development, policy implementation, budget management, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- P.E. and/or S.E. Registration or ability to obtain such within two years of accepting this position.
- 2 years of metal building industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily activities, ensuring engineering projects are completed on time with high quality.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive engineering policies, procedures, and practices that uphold our commitment to quality and safety.
- Manage staffing needs and budgetary allocations for supplies and equipment.
- Forecast and plan for the Engineering Group’s future, ensuring readiness and adaptability to meet evolving market demands.
- Engage with other divisions within Nucor to benchmark and adopt best practices, enhancing operational results and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure engineering projects are completed on time with high quality.
- Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Other
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school.
- Experience leading a team of multiple individuals.
- Actively engage in the professional growth of team members through training, mentoring, and thorough performance evaluations.
- Make recommendations for compensation adjustments.
- Coordinate with HR to execute recruitment strategies, conduct interviews, and make informed hiring decisions that contribute to the strength and diversity of the team.
