Information Technology Services, Office of is looking to solve business and technical problems related to telecom management by hiring a Student Assistant Internship.

Requirements

  • Gain an understanding of the technical structure of existing system automations, which utilize SQL and Python.
  • Apply this knowledge to understand the justification for and need for increased automation

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the lifecycle of over 600 active telecom accounts, including processing account closures for sunsetting services and opening new accounts in the tracking system.
  • Perform monthly, annual contract-based audits of lines and products for budget reconciliation using the Statewide Financial System (SFS).
  • Conduct front-page audits of carrier Monthly-Recurring/Blanket Approved template invoices, using SFS record validation for internet and phone services.
  • Review Monthly-Recurring/Purchase Order (PO) invoices for approval or denial against established PO lines and amounts.
  • Manage the carrier invoice dispute process, including opening and closing disputes based on validation of monthly-recurring invoices.
  • Process non-recurring invoices by receiving, auditing, and providing approval or denial.
  • Process and close ITSM requests and tasks related to billing and bill review.

  • Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
  • Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
  • Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.
