Xcel Energy is seeking candidates to support our Substation and Transmission Line Engineering and Design (STED) Organization, specifically, within our Substation group in Minneapolis, MN, to gain a broad look at the electric utility industry through entry-level tasks.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering
- Completed coursework on the topic of electric power systems
- 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
Responsibilities
- Participation in one of our major electrical equipment technical committees.
- AC and DC auxiliary system calculations.
- Assist with standard or process document updates.
- Assist with data maintenance and analysis.
Other
- Current student, must be a current Sophomore
- Able to commute to the corporate office in Minneapolis, MN
- Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week)
