Entergy Operations, Inc.-EOI is looking to solve practical engineering applications within the utility industry by hiring students to work on various projects and assist full design personnel.
Requirements
- Computer skills–- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with computer-based systems for engineering studies.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering principles.
- Experience with design and analysis software.
- Familiarity with utility industry standards and practices.
- Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems.
- Experience with data analysis and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Interface with external Customers to provide electric service.
- Design electric distribution facilities and perform various engineering studies using computer-based systems.
- Assist in outage restoration efforts as needed.
- Work as part of a cross-function Team to meet the needs of Customers.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
- Work on various projects, working with engineers and engineering associates.
- Assist full Design personnel in various activities.
Other
- Must be currently enrolled in school full-time, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering, and enrolled in sophomore year or beyond.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is required (on a 4.0 scale).
- Must have good communication and Customer Service skills.
- Ability to work in adverse climate conditions and physical nature of work may require walking long distances in uneven off-road environments.
- Some travel may be necessary, up to 25%.
