Sikich is seeking to leverage interns to assist IT audit or advisory teams, aiming to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in client services while fostering the development of future professionals.

Requirements

  • Experienced in Microsoft Suite
  • Prior IT internship experience preferred
  • Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards.
  • Government Accountability Office’s (GAO’s) Government Auditing Standards (GAS)
  • American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA’s) AU-Cs
  • GAO/Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Financial Audit Manual (FAM),
  • GAOFederal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM)

Responsibilities

  • Obtain, analyze, and evaluate data from the client to perform tests to substantiate transactions, records, and reports.
  • Review documents, transactions, records, reports, and methods for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Prepare sufficient documentation to support work performed, including workpapers and summarized data reports.
  • Leverage technology, including data analysis tools and AI, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of audit procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Other

  • Interns are responsible for providing assistance and support to the IT audit or advisory team under the supervision of a senior, supervisory senior or manager.
  • Requires an ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with supervisory personnel.
  • Report task progress and status to senior, manager, or principal
  • Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, company/client deadlines, and abide by all company policies.
  • Actively participate in formal and informal training to continuously grow technical and non-technical competencies.
  • Junioror Senior status at time of internship
  • Engaged in an accounting, cost accounting, or auditing program at a college or university
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • An interest infederal auditing and/or federal consulting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
