PACCAR is seeking an intern to support the development and deployment of intelligent systems by assisting in data preparation, model development, and performance evaluation to drive innovation in predictive analytics, automation, and decision intelligence.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of ML concepts and algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, evaluation metrics)
- Proficient in Python or R, with experience using libraries like scikit-learn, pandas, and NumPy
- Familiar with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
- Exposure to version control (Git) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support data scientists and engineers in developing, training, and deploying AI/ML models
- Prepare structured and unstructured data for model training and evaluation
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and insights
- Implement and evaluate basic ML algorithms using standard metrics
- Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights
- Document workflows, assumptions, and results for reproducibility
- Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions on AI/ML applications
Other
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
