American Family Insurance is looking to solve business problems by establishing and maintaining strategies to meet organizational objectives, and is seeking an intern to assist in this effort.

Requirements

  • Basic familiarity with financial statements and management reporting through coursework or projects.
  • An introductory understanding of financial and operational analysis concepts.
  • Eagerness to learn and apply forecasting techniques, statistical analysis, and data modeling.
  • An interest in gaining knowledge of insurance accounting and operations.
  • Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.
  • A strong interest in providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Must be currently seeking a baccalaureate, masters, or doctoral degree and be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis or as required by the university's co-op program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the organization’s business environments, corporate culture and structure to support work initiatives.
  • Supports and plans work on small projects with direction from management.
  • Presents project results to management and/or department personnel.
  • Supports the team in analyzing in-flight projects for efficiency and budget adherence.
  • Assists with the preparation of financial and operational reports for management.
  • Provides support on ad-hoc analyses for various business decisions across the organization.
  • May assume the duties normally performed in the department, alongside professionals who perform these roles.

  • Must be currently seeking a baccalaureate, masters, or doctoral degree and be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis or as required by the university's co-op program.
  • Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10%.
  • Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
  • Offer to selected candidate will be made contingent on the results of applicable background checks
