American Family Insurance is looking to collect, store, and process large volumes of data to enable scalable data science workloads across its operating companies. The goal is to construct and maintain modeling datasets, ensuring data scientists have convenient access to curated data, and to support the creation and delivery of reliable, well-structured data.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in SQL, Python or cloud-native tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with exploratory data analysis to identify and prepare datasets for data science projects.
  • Help develop and maintain scalable data pipelines from internal and external sources to support data science workloads.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the creation, deployment, and scaling of data solutions for data scientists.
  • Work with open-source technologies like Python, SQL, and cloud-native tools to support the creation and delivery of reliable, well-structured data.
  • Assist in collecting, storing, and processing large volumes of data to help enable scalable data science workloads across American Family's operating companies.
  • Help construct and maintain our modeling data sets, ensuring data scientists have convenient access to curated data.

Other

  • Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2026 or later.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.
  • Major/program must align with internship role. Undergraduate students in Data Science or individuals currently enrolled in a Data Science master’s program preferred.
  • Due to the nature of this role, we are unable to consider candidates who may require visa sponsorship.
  • Offer to selected candidate is contingent on signing a non-disclosure agreement for proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions.
