Vistra Corp is seeking Summer 2026 Intern to support our Grid Integration and Interconnection Services team, specifically, within our Irving, TX location. The internship provides an opportunity to showcase your abilities in one of our fast paced , dynamic engineering groups that supports Development team for large load interconnection and generator interconnection projects.

Requirements

  • Current student, enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field with GPA 3.0 or better.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access desired

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the various Interconnection related functions such as development of Large Load , Generator Interconnection planning models, interconnection studies, congestion analysis etc.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders and various Transmission Owners/Independent System Operators gaining understanding of Large Load Interconnection Process and Generator Interconnection Process.
  • Development of critical thinking skills and applying data analysis, unique transmission, interconnection problems.
  • Assist in the Interconnection applications, one-line drawings , sizing of equipment , develop internal tools for process improvement

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship.
  • Preferably a junior or senior.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desired
  • Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date
  • Must be in good academic standing with your school
