Western Digital is seeking motivated undergraduate students for a 12-week paid internship during Summer 2026 to gain hands-on experience in specialized areas within IT, including Workflow Automation, DevOps/MLOps, IT Security, and Software Engineering, to work on impactful projects and develop technical and professional skills.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of programming/scripting (e.g., Python, Shell, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD, or security frameworks.
- Work with technologies such as SQL, Python, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Use tools like GitHub or Bitbucket for collaborative coding and documentation.
- Academic or personal projects in DevOps, AI/ML, automation,
Responsibilities
- Support automation initiatives using tools like ServiceNow, Moveworks, and AI.
- Learn and contribute to AI/ML model deployment, monitoring, and analytics.
- Explore AI Agent development and automation for engineering workflows.
- Gain exposure to tools like Git, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
- Assist in implementing risk management frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST).
- Participate in security assessments, data analysis, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance applications.
Other
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Right to work in the U.S. without requiring future visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B).
- Preference given to candidates who do not require relocation to San Jose, CA, or Irvine, CA.
- IT internships at Western Digital are primarily in-person, up to 3 days per week.
