National Grid is seeking engineering interns to gain practical experience within the energy industry, contributing to the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of power generation assets, and supporting the transition to a greener future.

Requirements

  • monitoring the Daily Heat Rate and following the Greasing and Lubrication Schedule
  • learn about and trace high-pressure steam systems and high-voltage electrical systems in the field
  • assist in troubleshooting demand maintenance issues encountered during operations
  • participate in the planning of upcoming outage work, by participating in worklist and update meetings that cover budget, scope, schedule, and safety
  • investigate system performance problems and approach troubleshooting with an engineering mindset
  • conduct equipment tests, analyze the results and prepare recommendations for corrective actions
  • monitor all plant operating and environmental conditions through regular inspections and reviews of operational logs
