Salesforce's Tableau Research team is looking for interns to contribute to their mission of helping people see and understand data. The goal is to generate new product and technology directions, influence future product roadmaps, and advance the state of the art in data and analytics through industry and academic collaboration.
Requirements
- Strong technical skills to prototype in a language of choice, e.g., D3/JavaScript, Python, R, C++, C-Sharp, Java, Go.
- Strong experience with setting up user studies, collecting, analyzing, and distilling qualitative and quantitative data.
- Research topics include visual analytics, conversational analytics, semantics & data preparation, human-computer & multi-modal interaction, machine learning, AI/LLMs.
Responsibilities
- Designing and/or prototyping research ideas.
- Conducting user studies.
- Collecting, analyzing, and distilling qualitative and quantitative data.
- Presenting and providing updates on research progress.
- Creating a final presentation and write-up of the project.
- Potentially co-authoring an academic paper.
- Prototyping in a language of choice (e.g., D3/JavaScript, Python, R, C++, C-Sharp, Java, Go).
Other
- PhD student in good academic standing.
- At least a couple years of research and publishing experience at high-quality conference and journal venues.
- Research passion aligns with Tableau’s mission to help people see and understand data.
- Previous internship experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
