Pape-Dawson Engineers is looking to solve the business problem of designing and developing airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, airfield lighting, and drainage systems, by hiring an Aviation Intern to assist in these efforts.
Requirements
- Familiarity with engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Previous internship experience with a civil or aviation design firm is preferred but not required.
- Interest in aviation and airport infrastructure is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist a Project Manager or licensed engineer in the preparation of airport construction plans, including grading, drainage, pavement markings, lighting, and NAVAIDS layouts.
- Support the development of project plans, technical reports, exhibits, and cost estimates using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Help prepare and review submittals, redlines, and other design documents for quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering technicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design compliance and innovation.
- Participate in site visits, field observations, and as-built documentation under supervision.
- Contribute to engineering studies and feasibility analyses for aviation-related infrastructure.
Other
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited college or university.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
