Nationwide Financial Group is looking to solve the business problem of developing actuarial talent and providing opportunities for students to gain valuable experience in the actuarial field.
Requirements
- Students pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or have a similar background in modeling, programming or quantitative analysis
- Experiences that demonstrate proficiency in actuarial software
- Knowledge of actuarial concepts and principles
- Programming skills in languages relevant to actuarial field
- Quantitative analysis skills
- Data analysis and modeling skills
- Familiarity with health insurance industry
Responsibilities
- Work in and learn about actuarial pricing, product development, valuation and financial reporting in regard to health insurance
- Receive extensive training in actuarial concepts, actuarial software and in the products we sell
- Work on a project that adds value and present research and findings to leadership
- Gain experience in actuarial field through a 12-week summer internship
- Learn about the roles and responsibilities of all Nationwide actuarial teams through networking and a summer presentation series
- Develop skills in actuarial modeling, programming or quantitative analysis
- Participate in volunteer efforts as part of community service
