HP is seeking to research how AI and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) are changing future commercial PC form factors and user experiences, and to understand human behavior shifts with AI.
Requirements
- Strong interest in technology, AI, and future user experiences
- Ability to conduct or quickly learn user research methods
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills
- Familiarity with HCI, UX research, or interaction design
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., for research, ideation, or prototyping)
- Basic understanding of market sizing or business analysis
- Experience creating: journey maps, JTBD frameworks, conceptual workflows or low-fidelity prototypes (Figma, diagrams, slides)
Responsibilities
- Conduct user research to understand how AI is changing workflows and human behavior
- Identify pain points, unmet needs, and Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) in AI-assisted work
- Synthesize findings into clear insights, journey maps, and opportunity areas
- Research emerging trends in AI, HCI, and computing devices
- Explore how future PC form factors, interaction models, and AI agents may evolve
- Develop conceptual workflows, scenarios, and experience ideas
- Perform basic market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM or bottom-up estimates) for proposed concepts
Other
- Create clear research summaries, slide decks, and concept narratives
- Present findings to cross-functional stakeholders (design, product, engineering)
- Communicate complex ideas in a structured and engaging way
- Ability to work independently with guidance
- Preferred Majors: Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), MBA (with AI or research focus), Cognitive Science, Information Science / Informatics, UX / Interaction Design, Computer Science (with AI or UX focus), Psychology (behavioral or experimental focus), Data Science or Business Analytics (with product or UX projects)
