Electric Boat is seeking a QA Volumetric Supervisor to oversee a team of 10 technicians, ensuring the quality and safety of their vessels through meticulous inspection activities and adherence to stringent procedures.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience
- 2 years of UT (Ultrasonic) Shear wave inspection experience
- Currently qualified as a Level II Shear Wave Inspector and must maintain this qualification in good standing
- Prior experience with SubSafe, DSS-SOC, and FBW
- Exposure to Electric Boats learning management system
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance documents and processes including the ship’s certification process
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, and diagrams
Responsibilities
- overseeing and scheduling inspection activities to support key events at Quonset Point
- performing leadership duties throughout the facility which will include verifying safe working conditions and habits, verifying qualifications, ATA, and setting expectations
- supervision of salary personnel including Level II Shear Wave Inspectors, Make-Ready Analysts, and hourly Level I Shear Wave Inspectors
- performance of Level II Shear Wave Inspections
- work with the trades to accomplish priority work with first time quality in mind
- Accurate documentation, recorded keeping and archiving along with verifying previous status of work for completion is a critical job function
- Verifying all inspector job areas are safe and ready to be worked prior to the start of their crews start time
