The Space Quality Inspection Team needs a leader to resolve challenges, ensure tactical execution, and create a strategic vision. This role will focus on training the inspection team, providing support for program activities, and ensuring compliance with various quality standards and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Must interface successfully with internal customers by discussing inspection related requirements, issues, and resolutions.
- Assist in training employees in all aspects of the inspection role, TIPQA, Inspection Technique, tool use, Training requirements and compliance to AS9100, customer requirements and company practices.
- Validates product and documentation for compliance to applicable requirements through inspection and GD& T measurements. Prepares Product and Product Articles for presentation to the customer for acceptance and delivery.
- Must complete training courses for the position (some held on site at this facility) J-STD-001 and Space Addendum, NASA-STD-8739.1 and .4, polymerics and crimp, on the job training by peers and management. Openness to external training required.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of working in MES, TIPQA, SAP or a similar manufacturing system.
- Experience with Military/Space workmanship specifications and IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 soldering specifications or work and experience in a similar field.
- Previous GD & T – background, working with various hand tools (micrometer, dial indicator and plug gauges).

- Hands on leader with responsibility for resolving challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision for the Space Quality Inspection Team.
- Supervises and supports employees. Communicates with parties inside and outside of their own team to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
- Plans and establish operational objectives for their team that result in positive impact on department.
- Provides day-to-day direction for direct report(s), focuses on maintaining steady workflow and productivity and resolving operational decisions.
- Lead the inspection team, insuring cross training adequacy for all areas of inspection for the business.
- Aid in the work of standardizing inspection processes across multiple programs.
- Aid in the development, creation and implementation of inspection initiatives related to cost and efficiency.
