Block is looking to build scalable trade compliance and global freight solutions in all markets where it operates to enable global operations across its entire hardware portfolio, manage complex supplier relationships, and develop strategies that balance cost, speed, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and implementing import and export compliance processes, including HS and ECCN classifications, export licensing, customs communications, import audits, tariff cost management, and entry corrections across multiple jurisdictions. Experience with small parcel imports a plus
- Deep expertise in global customs regulations with proven ability to resolve complex compliance issues in creative and effective ways, experience with US Export regulations is a plus
- Successful track record of strategic supplier relationship management, including negotiating complex service agreements, managing supplier performance and outcomes via KPIs, and driving cost optimization across multiple service categories
- Proven ability to mitigate risk and effectively manage outcomes via cross functional teams, including 3PLs, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory authorities globally without direct management authority
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
- Experience leveraging automation tools, AI-driven analytics, and process optimization solutions to enhance supplier management processes and reduce manual tasks
Responsibilities
- Drive significant cost optimization through strategic sourcing and network design
- Build scalable global freight and trade compliance programs that support company growth
- Develop and execute global freight and trade compliance procurement strategies with minimal oversight
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives including vendor selection, relationship management, and market intelligence
- Drive complex contract negotiations with partners across customs brokerage, compliance consulting, freight forwarding, parcel services, and SaaS
- Design and implement flexible, scalable solutions supporting our outsourced logistics strategy
- Own cost management including rate negotiations, RFQs, benchmarking, cost modeling, and tariff budgeting

- 8+ years of progressive experience in global logistics procurement and trade compliance
- Work cross-functionally to resolve high impact compliance escalations and time-sensitive inquiries
- Develop and own business continuity plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions
- Create and maintain supplier performance metrics and lead quarterly business reviews
- Manage critical, ad hoc, and expedited shipments to ensure supply chain continuity
