GE Appliances is looking to reduce defects, improve supplier performance, and ensure their products exceed customer expectations by strengthening collaboration between the Cost of Quality (COQ) team and the Sourcing/Supplier Quality Organization.
Requirements
- Proven knowledge of quality control methodologies, statistical tools, and problem-solving techniques.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and other quality management systems; appliance industry knowledge a plus.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary quality liaison for Plastics and Packaging, strengthening collaboration between the COQ team and Sourcing/Supplier Quality Organization.
- Lead suppliers to consistently deliver high-quality parts that meet standards for cost, delivery, and quality.
- Drive supplier quality improvement projects, ensuring lasting corrective actions and process enhancements.
- Manage performance of assigned commodity groups by addressing issues, qualifying alternate suppliers, and supporting design or material changes.
- Develop and implement quality control plans, resolve process control issues, and drive permanent solutions to supplier-caused defects.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma projects with suppliers to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate customer experience.
- Support supplier part failure analysis, ensuring findings lead to strong corrective and containment actions.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of supplier quality engineering experience, ideally in the appliance or manufacturing industry.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and effective in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Willingness to work off-shift or weekends as needed.
