Electric Boat is looking to improve the quality of materials provided by their vendors, which are crucial for downstream manufacturing processes in their shipyards and supply chain.
Requirements
- 0-5 years of postgraduate engineering experience
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in Quality Engineering, Systems Engineering, and/or Waterfront Engineering.
- Quality Certifications: LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
- Degree in Manufacturing, Structural or Industrial
- Experience working with Quality requirements
- Experience with Supplier oversight
- Auditing experience
Responsibilities
- review of Ordering Data
- Supplier Capability Assessments
- Supplier’s Quality Management System reviews
- Process Audits
- process / product inspection
- evaluate material defects and quality trends to identify where Supplier root cause assessments and corrective actions are required
- develop an understanding of the manufacturing and quality practices used by the Supplier to ensure purchase order requirements are met
Other
- Ability to travel (potentially extensively at times)
- Ability to hold and maintain a SECRET DoD security clearance
