Detroit Diesel Corporation seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer & Procurement Specialist to drive supplier quality improvement results in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting existing or new customer requirements.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with Quality related Auditing (VDA, IATF, ISO 9001)
  • 3 years of experience with each of the following Automotive Quality Core Tools: Advanced Product Quality Planning & Control Plan (APQP); Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Statistical Process; Control (SPC); Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); Measurement System Analysis (MSA), SAP, 5S and nonconforming material return(RMA)
  • 3 years of experience in electronics/electrical commodities within the automotive industry
  • 3 years of experience in blueprint reading and fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams
  • 3 years of experience with Quality processes, documentation, and ability to make and interpret data-driven decisions
  • 3 years of experience working for an automotive German headquartered OEM or supplier
  • 3 years of experience in Microsoft business analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and strategize, together with cross-functional business partners to shape the future of transportation for powertrain components.
  • Execute projects to identify and develop new high voltage cell suppliers, technologies, strategies, and methods to support current and future powertrain programs.
  • Support Daimler Truck powertrain plants high voltage battery strategy including localized production parts verification and technical support.
  • Provide interface between engineering and high voltage cell suppliers concerning supplier quality and capacity issues, changes, and improvements.
  • Responsible for quality performance to support on data collection and analysis to identify failure trends and collaborate facilitating this data cross functional teams.
  • Investigate high voltage battery industry trends through competitive benchmarking, applying that information to set development directions and guide performance target settings.
  • Provide technical support for high voltage battery system related concerns for both pre-production and post-production issues.

  • Domestic and international travel required, up to 30%.
