Siemens is looking to solve the problem of ensuring the quality of their power control systems and automatic transfer switches by hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage incoming inspection plans, drive supplier nonconformance investigations, and own the production part approval process.
Requirements
- Understanding of quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), ISO 9001 standards, VDA audit practices, and production process verification.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment involving thermosets, thermoplastics, metal stamping, bus bar fabrication.
- Experience with industrial power control systems
- Proficiency using SAP or similar ERP system.
- Experience with automation tools (Power Automate, Power BI, Knime, Tableau, Minitab), SharePoint, core quality tools (FMEA, control plans, measurement system analysis), familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, audit practices, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Experience with inspection methods, measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and visual standards.
- Problem-solving skills with experience applying 8D methodology, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action tools.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the operation of production lines by containing suspect material and resolving quality issues related to raw material or delivered parts.
- Facilitating root cause analysis and driving cost recovery from supplier-related nonconformances.
- Monitoring supplier performance, managing ISO procedures and engineering changes, and implementing cost-reduction projects to improve supplier relationships and performance.
- Assisting the digital transformation of the factory’s quality systems.
- Interpreting technical drawings, tolerances, specifications, standards, and work instructions.
- Applying 8D methodology, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action tools.
- Containing suspect material and resolving quality issues related to raw material or delivered parts.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or related field
- Minimum 2-years’ experience in a quality or manufacturing related role.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills across cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a diverse global workforce
