Managing the quality of Electric Boats vendors who provide engineered components crucial for downstream manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Structural or Industrial Engineering
- Experience working with Quality requirements
- Experience with Supplier oversight
- Auditing experience
- Quality Certifications: LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
Responsibilities
- review of Ordering Data
- Supplier Capability Assessments
- Supplier’s Quality Management System reviews
- Process Audits and process / product inspection
- evaluate material defects and quality trends to identify where Supplier root cause assessments and corrective actions are required
- historically trend/analyze nonconformance data
Other
- develop relationships with peers within the supplier quality organization along with program office, procurement and material services organizations, and across disciplines within the engineering community.
- possess knowledge of quality principles and understanding of supply chain management.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills, be an effective writer/reviewer, and be capable of working in a team environment.
- Ability to travel (potentially extensively at times)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD security clearance
