Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries. Their key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price, with appropriate quality and delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client’s specifications and expectations. The internship aims to provide hands-on learning experience related to the skills needed in a full-time career within supply chain management to support construction operations.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives
  • Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings
  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
  • Design and present an End of Program Presentation to showcase your work and development throughout this internship

  • Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August)
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management or related
  • Genuine interest and passion for the field of purchasing/procurement
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time
  • Team player with the ability to work well independently
  • Ability to maintain excellent attendance
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Regular, reliable attendance
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
