Mecklenburg County is looking to solve environmental sustainability problems and improve community outreach and support of sustainability programs
Requirements
- Proficient in applicable computer programs, including full Microsoft Suite
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, graphs, charts, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Knowledge of government or non-profit structures and processes
- Knowledge of ordinances and regulations pertaining to specific sustainability issues
- Grant acquisition, approval, and implementation
- Proven ability to effectively gather, organize and analyze complex datasets
- Applying statistical analysis to environmental issues
Responsibilities
- Assist with data collection, tracking, and analysis for the Environmental Leadership Action Plan
- Manage ELAP data sharing through annual report creation and digital dashboard management
- Compile reports on sustainability programs and provide feedback and suggestions on how existing programs can be improved
- Create, maintain and update County sustainability websites
- Design and implement process improvement projects and programs
- Lead enterprise-wide environmental leadership initiatives focused on efficient practices and multi-departmental teams
- Coordinate information and education resources for environmental programs with other departments, municipalities, outside agencies, groups, and businesses
Other
- Minimum of four years of environmental experience
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental or scientific field
- Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
- County Driving Privileges
- Ability to work independently from supervision while managing an extensive workload
