Meta Reality Labs is looking to solve the problem of developing world-class Wearable and Mixed Reality hardware and software, specifically in the area of calibration for optical components and subsystems.
Requirements
- Experience working on applied research and/or product development involving joint hardware/software design, development, and integration
- Expertise or education in project management and cross-functional partnerships
- Track record of software development following software engineering best practices
- Experience in designing and operating robotic systems
- Knowledge of optics including imaging, illumination, radiometry and photometry, physical and geometric optics, statistics, and polarization
- Experience with multi-sensor fusion (cameras, depth sensors, inertial sensors, stereo imaging) and system calibration
- Algorithm development experience in computer vision, 3D reconstruction, navigation, or a related area
Responsibilities
- Develop calibration, test and characterization equipment for optical components and subsystems
- Develop specifications, procedures, and debug guides for calibration solutions
- Drive cross-functional decisions on development and architecture for calibration through system level testing
- Autonomously troubleshoot and debug calibration systems and automation solutions from a software and hardware perspective
- Coordinate third-party integrators in designing, developing and fabricating calibration systems
- Support lab and factory bring up of calibration stations, including on-site support at crucial project phases
Other
- BSc/MSc/PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience
