Trane Technologies is looking for a Systems Engineer Intern to work on their Systems Engineering Team, which has overall technical responsibility for developing high-quality controls and software products. The intern will be part of a new product development team, contributing to the design, interfaces, and architectures of HVAC embedded controllers, user interfaces, tools, and digital offerings.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of hardware and software design principles a plus
- HVAC controls and systems industry experience a plus
- Communication Protocols: Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or other protocol a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work with overall technical leadership on new product development projects.
- Participate in the product development life cycle of requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
- Establish system architecture and perform system level design and decomposition into requirements.
- Evaluate trade-offs between possible solution approaches.
- Perform system analysis and interface definition.
- Perform system and performance test planning and execution.
- Lead design reviews and technical project reviews.

- Support teams on process discipline for new product development.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Systems Engineering.
- Excellent communications skills including the ability to effectively present information/status to senior management and stakeholders.
