Collins Aerospace's Air Combat Test & Training (ACTT) department is dedicated to revolutionizing airborne pilot training for U.S. Navy and Air Force next-generation fighter jets. Their flagship product, the Tactical Combat Training System Increment II (TCTS II), is an on-aircraft, in-flight training system that provides unmatched operational realism. The Integration and Range Deployment team needs to develop, test, enhance, maintain, and deploy these advanced training systems to ensure pilots are effectively trained for current and future threats.
Requirements
- Experience with and/or coursework on at least one software development language such as C++, Python, or Java.
- Basic understanding of networking (UDP and IPv4).
Responsibilities
- You will work hands-on with state-of-the-art technology in cryptography, datalinks, navigation, communication, networking and command and control.
- You will deploy and test software builds on real TCTS II hardware.
- You will collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
- You will analyze and resolve system issues, ensuring systems are ready for deployment to military sites.
- You will work on realistic and high-fidelity simulations for a variety of fighter jet scenarios.

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
