Nationwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. TFDM is the surface management solution that will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS). TFDM program is a Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) NextGen program based on airport surface management provides that efficiencies for both the airport surface and terminal airspace by providing a new and comprehensive integrated surface traffic control and management system.

Requirements

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux operating, troubleshoot connection /network configurations skills
  • Experience in following a documented Integration and Test Development Process
  • Strong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systems
  • Able to understand XML data and ability to troubleshoot connection issues with network configurations, IP addresses, JMS queue configurations, etc.
  • New system functionality integration
  • External Interface integration checkouts during risk reduction activities
  • Regression testing

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing in Physical and Virtual test labs to ensure the system, test procedure, and test inputs are prepared to execute with the customer present
  • Perform formal test execution with the customer and Quality Assurance organizations present
  • Execute procedures that verify the system is properly configured and operating in the NAS
  • Debug system level issues and provide detailed supporting data on identified issues
  • Able to understand System Level Requirements and perform system interface checkouts
  • Learn system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the integration and test of the new capabilities and enhancements
  • Collaborate with the TFDM system engineering team to develop test approaches for new and modified requirements

Other

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Coordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnel
  • Work with team lead to provide guidance to fellow test team members and ensure team goals are appropriately set to meet all program milestones
  • Ability to conduct Testing at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in operational site conditions with the FAA customer when required
  • Be able to support travel (10% of time)
