Morgan Stanley is looking to solve the problem of ensuring the operational reliability of deployed software and implementing strategies to optimize performance and minimize downtime in their production environment.
Requirements
- Ability to debug end-to-end issues that cross between the mainframe platform and a distributed Linux environment (and vice versa).
- Expertise in SQL a must (with specific experience in DB2 a plus).
- COBOL experience.
- Knowledge of MQ / Kafka / Github / VSCode a plus.
- Knowledge of business processing flows in a financial services company desired.
- Ability to design, build, and maintain systems.
- Experience with automation for deployment, management, and visibility of services.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with engineering/development teams to design, build, and maintain systems.
- Troubleshooting issues across the entire technology stack: hardware, software, application, and network.
- Identifying and driving opportunities to improve automation for our platforms; scope and create automation for deployment, management, and visibility of our services.
- Proactively identifying and addressing systems reliability risks.
- Working alongside existing global and regional team members on a follow-the-sun basis.
- Represent the RPE organization in design reviews and operational readiness exercises for new and existing services.
- Experience in debugging, coding, and implementing in production COBOL / DB2 programs and JCL code in the IBM mainframe / TSO environment and where applicable, perform the same activities in a Linux environment.

- Complete support tickets from users and respond to system job failures / alerts.
- Strong verbal and written skills required to interact with global teams and customers.
- Flexibility of work in shift and perform on-call responsibility.
- Working from office (3 days per week minimum is the current policy)
