Applied Materials is looking to solve the problem of developing software for the control system of semiconductor process equipment, including designing interfaces for advanced sensors, creating algorithms for optimal material engineering, and implementing real-time control of devices.
Requirements
- Proficiency and experience in C and C++ is required
- Programming experience in several of the following areas is desired: Real-time Control, Motion Control, Multi-threading, performance profiling, Visual Studio
Responsibilities
- Designs, prototypes and develops moderately difficult software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices
- Designs common software modules and libraries for use across multiple products
- Troubleshoots a variety of moderately difficult software problems. Designs and implements bug fixes
- Defines software specifications
- Suggests and implements improvements to the development and troubleshooting process
- Develops software documentation
- Interfaces with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project schedule and software troubleshooting
Other
- Graduating with a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field
- Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Combines technical skills with effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to analyze complex information and explain in a straightforward manner
