Microsoft AI is seeking a Talent Sourcer to identify and engage top technical talent across Engineering roles for foundational and consumer-facing AI systems.
Requirements
- 4+ years of end-to-end technical sourcing experience
- 3+ years of experience sourcing for software engineering or infrastructure roles
- 1+ years experience sourcing for Product Management or AI/ML-related roles
- Familiarity with sourcing startup and growth-stage engineering talent
- Experience with creative sourcing methods: GitHub, portfolio sites, event rosters, alumni networks, Boolean/X-ray search
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent searches with high attention to quality and signal
- Comfort operating in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities and emerging needs
Responsibilities
- Source across multiple platforms: GitHub, Stack Overflow, LinkedIn, alumni networks, meetups, and engineering communities.
- Execute structured searches across diverse profiles and functions, from backend engineers to AI product roles.
- Map talent across backend, full-stack, infra, mobile, and applied AI profiles—balancing quality, location, and business alignment.
- Track hiring activity, team movements, and community dynamics across the startup and growth-stage tech ecosystem.
- Partner with peers to identify diversity opportunities and explore underrepresented communities in technical domains.
- Leverage internal systems to identify top talent, manage candidate flow, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Use performance data and historical trends to influence targeting and inform future sourcing decisions.

- Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to understand hiring goals, role nuances, and technical expectations across Engineering, Product, and AI teams.
- Participate in calibrations and pipeline reviews, offering insight into market availability and candidate signal.
- Contribute to profile refinement and search prioritization based on talent availability and business urgency.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment, supporting aligned priorities across adjacent functions and roles.
