Vanguard’s Trading Analytics and Strategy (TAS) team works with our global trading desks to optimize their trading strategies, saving millions of dollars for clients every year. The team works with our trader and portfolio manager partners, across asset classes and passive as well as active mandates, to conduct data-driven analyses and build tools to help shape our trading strategy.
Requirements
- Strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, AWS, Git.
- Experience with Tableau and/or OneTick is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated reporting pipelines and analytical tools to support TAS initiatives.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through rigorous testing and validation of code and outputs.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and implement solutions using SQL, Python, and other relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with the technology team to support infrastructure and data requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies, performing root cause analyses and recommending long-term solutions.
- Continuously improve workflows by integrating new technologies and streamlining processes.
- Begin developing familiarity with TCA concepts and trading desk operations, with the goal of presenting insights to traders and portfolio managers.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in technical fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in a technical or data-focused role (internships or academic projects with relevant scope may be considered).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Interest in financial markets and a desire to grow technical expertise in a trading context.
