EY Tax Technology and Transformation aims to help companies address challenges posed by increasing data burdens and emerging technologies by enhancing efficiency and transforming tax functions into cost-effective operations, navigating the digital landscape of tax transparency, compliance, and audit methods.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL/ELT development.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, or Scala for data processing.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and database design (relational and NoSQL).
  • Exposure to data governance practices and tools is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing robust data models and pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources (e.g. flat files, APIs, databases).
  • Collaborate with the Senior Data Engineer to develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using cloud-native tools and frameworks.
  • Support the development of data infrastructure that enables analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across systems by following best practices in version control, testing, and documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance.

Other

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or related fields.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex issues and make informed decisions
