The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is looking to hire a Programmer II (Software Developer) to perform complex computer programming work, including development on front- and back-end code for applications using Java EE, Salesforce, and NodeJS platforms. The role will also involve maintaining and creating batch scripts, developing and maintaining Image Right document workflows, supporting existing applications, and creating new applications.

Requirements

  • One year of programming experience specifically in Java, JavaScript and Oracle.
  • One year of working experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience working in Spring Framework,
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Javascript (ES6).
  • Experience in Oracle (12c or 19c) databases, SQL, and PL/SQL, MyBatis.
  • Experience with browser-based debugging tools, and version control software such as Git or SVN.
  • Experience with Node.js, React, Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex (journey-level) computer programming work.
  • Primary programming work will include development on front- and back-end code on applications using the Java EE platform, Salesforce platform and NodeJS platform.
  • Other programming work will include maintaining and creating batch scripts for the agency and creating and maintaining Image Right document workflows.
  • Assists in the design, development, testing and maintenance of software applications.
  • Assists in developing software requirements for proposed software solutions, including the preparation of detailed analyses, plans, and testing procedures.
  • Writes clean, secure and maintainable code in compliance with government IT standards.
  • Analyzes, reviews, and reformats code to improve performance or adapt new procedures.

Other

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in data processing, computer science, business administration, or a related field.
  • Regular work attendance.
