Meta is looking to solve the problem of advancing battery science and technology at scale to power future AR and XR devices, by driving the research and development of advanced battery technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in battery development for electric vehicles, consumer electronics, or related fields
- 5+ years of experience with battery modeling (e.g., physics-based material or electrochemistry modeling, AI/ML for materials discovery)
- 5+ years of experience designing and executing experiments for model development and validation
- 5+ years industry experience in battery development for electric vehicles or consumer electronics devices
- 5+ years industry experience with battery modeling for consumer electronics or electric vehicles (e.g., physics-based battery material or electrochemistry modeling, AI/ML development for battery materials discovery)
- Proven understanding of battery cell materials, chemistry, and manufacturing processes for consumer electronics
- Experience with battery and materials characterization techniques (e.g., electrochemical cell characterization, cyclic voltammetry, EIS, XPS, FTIR, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to research teams developing advanced battery technologies, from concept through to prototype
- Define and execute research roadmaps in partnership with internal and external collaborators
- Drive the transfer of promising battery technologies from research to product development, supporting new technology introduction (NTI) and new product introduction (NPI) projects
- Lead and contribute to battery modeling efforts, including electrochemical modeling, materials modeling, and/or AI/ML for materials discovery
- Design and execute experiments to support model development and validation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with research, engineering, and manufacturing partners
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience leading projects and programs, including cross-functional partners
- 2+ years of experience developing program direction and strategy
