The digital transformation of Fortune from a print magazine to a multi-channel media company is in full swing. The Engineering team works on multiple digital properties at Fortune: from the editorial website, conferences, Fortune Recommends and others. Our goal is to launch new products to build on our core competencies of content, events and education, in order to diversify our revenue streams; and to improve the experience and monetization of existing properties.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Next.js, React, Angular)
- Experience with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java)
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and their integrations
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., design patterns, object-oriented programming)
- Proven experience leading and mentoring junior engineers
- Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Responsibilities
- Champion high-quality software development practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Take ownership of complex projects, defining technical roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams to successful delivery.
- Align engineering efforts with business goals, focusing on projects that deliver measurable ROI and drive revenue growth.
- Leverage data and analytics to inform technical decisions, track project progress, and measure the impact of engineering initiatives.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable and maintainable software systems.
- Continue to actively participate in coding, design, and implementation of key software components.
