DreamWorks Animation is looking for a Technical Direction Intern to assist with writing tools for the production pipeline, craft and develop new software tools, test and debug existing tools, and provide technical support to production artists in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Requirements
- Programming experience
- Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++ or JavaScript
- Computer Graphics
- Experience with project-tracking software such as Jira or equivalent
- Understanding of digital content creation applications such as Maya, Houdini, and/or Nuke
- Solid grasp of revision control systems such as Git
- Familiarity with User Experience (UX) concepts and/or User Interface (UI) design and development
Responsibilities
- Observe and assist Technical Directors with writing tools for the production pipeline
- Craft and develop new software tools and applications to assist artists in large-scale feature animation productions
- Test, debug, and extend existing tools and systems
- Provide technical support to production artists
- Provide support for any additional administrative and data-wrangling tasks as needed
Other
- Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or be a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Must be willing to work in Glendale, California.
- Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
